Utilities
Utility projects face distinct technical and planning challenges that present commercial risks. My experience within this sector has seen me work closely with site agents and supervisors "on the ground" as well as company directors. These learning opportunities allow me to identify risks early and develop proposals for responding effectively. I have experience working with bespoke and NEC forms of contract in the utility sector and have worked on large capital projects and high-volume low-value schemes.
Capital Projects
I have experience operating as a senior quantity surveyor on a range of individual capital projects as well as overseeing and reporting commercially on capital work-streams. Projects for which I have provided services have varied from tunnelling works to water mains rehabilitation schemes.

I was the commercial point of contact for a portfolio of water projects in excess of £100m when working with Skanska for Thames Water and completed accurate forecasts towards the close-out of the contract.
High Volume Low Value
Due to the nature of utility infrastructure, clients with an extensive network of assets will typically manage minor capital projects and OPEX budgets via work-streams. Projects will often be of a high-volume low-value nature and require repetitive tasks.
I have significant experience in dealing with schemes of this nature and have a proven track record for developing and implementing new processes to improve reporting and reduce WIP. Strengths in this area include excellent Microsoft Excel skills, efficient data analysis, and a process-driven approach.

Played a key role in the re-structure of a large joint venture framework when working with Agility Alliance (MUS/Murphy JV). This task required a broad view of the bigger picture, adding valuable experience I have taken forward in my career.
